FMF '08

"I'll race the sun, as is dances through the sky..."

What's up everybody? This is Terrence Otenki (Street Team Leader) and I am writing to tell you guys all about the phenomenal week I just had in Florida with the band. Otenki had the opportunity to play the Florida Music Festival in Orlando, so we journeyed down to the Sunshine State on May 13th for them to rock out with some of the best bands in the region. It took us approximately twenty three hours on the road to get to Florida. Now that may sound like a very difficult trip and it can be in moments, but the band's hilarious jokes and antics along the way made it all worthwhile.

Upon our arrival in Orlando on the 14th, our first task was to meet up with the band we would be lodging with. The guys from In Violent Times, a spectacular band from Orlando, were generous enough to open up their home to us and welcome us to the city.

On our first night, more than we were exhausted, we were eager to checkout downtown Orlando and see what was happening, as well as where the band would be playing. So we took to the streets with Bennett, the lead guitarist of In Violent Times, and like the rock stars we all are (lol) we were immediately asked to pose for a picture.

We didn't stay out too long, because we all had to get up early the next morning to register for the festival.

The next day (thur. 15th) was spent registering for the festival, promoting the show, learning our way around the city and meeting some of the local bands. We also went over to hang out at the Backbooth where Otenki would be playing on Sat.

Friday the 16th, we hit the streets early to promote our show and enjoy some of the many happenings of the festival. We stopped to check out some performances of others bands, i.e. In Between The Trees and Radio Reset. The city was bursting with energy and we were all happy to be apart of FMF.

Sat, May 17th was the day of Otenki's performance!

The guys rocked out Orlando and we partied on until the next day! We met so many great people and made so many memories. The band looks forward to playing Florida again soon!

We're excited to take on all those interested. However, there are some minor requirements that we need for active street team members.

We will put together the final list of requirements tomorrow afternoon. We're excited to get this going.
